Peter Lavers looks back at new product launches

Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph and Bentley Arnage launches 25 years on

Many of you will know that our founding director Peter Lavers’ early career was with Rolls-Royce and Bentley Motor Cars.

One of his many achievements whilst working there was the project management of the company’s first all-new cars in more than 30 years, the Rolls-Royce Silver Seraph and the Bentley Arnage.

To commemorate the 25th anniversary of these events, Rolls-Royce and Bentley Driver magazine interviewed Peter for a 7-page spread on how these launches were achieved.

For the Silver Seraph launch, top customers were invited to the revamped factory in Crewe, and the new model was revealed in a fairly traditional way in a theatre. But then the backdrop fell away and suddenly customers realised they weren’t in a theatre – they were at the end of the new production line!

The Arnage launch shortly after was completely different! It all culminated on one momentous day for over 1,000 invited guests to descend on Le Mans to see the reveal of the new Bentley and then to enjoy a variety of activities and events in and around the famous race track.

In the article Peter gives full credit to the brilliant team from what is now Bentley Motor Cars at Crewe. It gives an insight into where he picked up his skills in collaborative working to develop and a deliver customer centric strategy.
